Bologna and Christian Modena
Petroniana Viaggi e Turismo, which has always been linked to religious tourism, created the Christian Bologna project to respond to the growing interest in the destination by organised groups and Tour Operators, including foreigners, who have religious and cultural motivations, as well as interest in the Trails that touch Bologna, the metropolitan area and Modena.
Our aim is to promote Bologna, Modena, their plains, the Apennines and the Imola area as an authentic land, rich in testimonies of faith and historical passage of ancient pilgrimage and trade routes, responding to the specific development needs of the territory, of its operators and stakeholders with a view to experiential tourism, also promoting lesser-known but highly valuable places.
Our aim is also to enhance the tourist value of the area, fostering the emergence of local economies, and by differentiating and qualifying the tourist offer for the domestic market, as well as the European and non-European markets.
Culture, spirituality, history, nature, food & wine and tradition in a perspective of sustainable tourism for the enhancement of the territory and of the host communities.
One of the objectives is to highlight both Bologna and Modena, thanks to good rail and air connections, as well as their territories, including them in thematic itineraries.
Bologna could be the starting point for day trips to nearby cities in the region in order to encourage and promote stays of several days, and possibly even one week.
